Pastor Scott Kirchoff
I’m a Lutheran pastor who believes in preaching Christ crucified with conviction, clarity, and compassion. After nearly three decades of ministry, as a parish pastor, church planter, prison chaplain, military chaplain, and now pastor at Holy Lamb Lutheran Church. I’ve come to deeply value both the strength of our Lutheran heritage and the need to make the Gospel come alive for every generation.
I was born and raised in Columbus, Indiana, and graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne in 1995. I’ve served in a variety of ministry settings across the country, but no matter where I’ve been, my heart has always been in the same place: with God’s people, gathered around Word and Sacrament.
I see myself as a shepherd-scholar, someone who takes seriously the call to teach, preach, and lead, while also staying grounded in the daily life of the Church. Whether I’m preparing a sermon, writing a Bible study, planning a 40-day devotional, or sitting beside someone in need, my calling is to point people to Jesus.
Outside the church walls, I enjoy lifting weights, riding my bike, and listening to audiobooks. I’m also a retired federal prison chaplain and military veteran, proud husband to Sonja (a dedicated Christian school teacher), and father to two sons who serve as officers in the United States Air Force.
At Holy Lamb, we’ve adopted the greeting: “Welcome Home.” That’s more than a phrase, it’s our identity. My hope is that everyone who walks through our doors feels seen, known, and invited into a deeper relationship with Christ and His Church.
