Receiving the offering during worship also reminds us that our entire lives belong before the altar of God. We bring our prayers, our praise, our burdens, our sins, our hopes, and also a portion of what God has placed into our hands. The offering is therefore a small picture of the Christian life itself. God gives to us, and by His grace we respond.
