You have a divine purpose. Not just “church people” or pastors
or saints in stained glass – but you.
God has placed you in your family, your workplace, your neighborhood, and this church for
a reason. The Spirit who called you in baptism continues to shape and guide your life, sanctifying you day by day.
In the bigger picture, Lent is (give or take) a tithe of the year, it is our gift of time. The tithe is literally 10% and the time of Lent is devoted to God. During Lent and leading up to Easter, we make an extra effort to offer ourselves to God in daily devotions, and go out of our way to perform acts of kindness for God, for our neighbor, and for one another at home.
